“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” ― Mark Twain, The Innocents Abroad / Roughing It
God bless you Aldo. Bosnian nature is indeed spectacular.
I love those hummingbirds.
amazing documentary!
One day I'll be part of this family
I did this trip.
I wish to work with this INSPIRATION one day....
anyone has a link to the music at 12:41? absolutely slaps...
Watching this from a house right by the square in Kathmandu where the documentary ends.
Bravo. Bosna je moja domovina.
22:49 Afghanistan
This is an inspiring film which happily breaks with the old narrative of "everything is going downhill". I hope to visit the area one day and maybe contribute something to this rewilding effort.
Thank you so much for your comments Jamie. It is extremely important to us to showcase and spotlight incredible individuals striving for positive change. This region is certainly worth a visit!
10000 acres each day are lost? Yeah right.

Left Amsterdam Dec 28th 1974, heading to KTM< did it by local transports< Trains, bus's, taxi's took about 5 months
He didn't say nothing to you about Tara 😮😮😮
Thanks for this. i did this trip in March to August 1987. this brought back great memories. what a blast. it was hell of a trip. i kept a diary of each day which i do re visit from time to time. thanks so much
Wow that's amazing. Did you go though Iran? as I thought the trail was affected by the regime change in 1979.
@@la1e yes we entered via DIYUBAYZIT which we called DOG BISCUIT. spelling unclear. we were followed by the Iranian Secret police every where we went. it was during the Iran Iraq war and iran was being bombed at the time so we kind of rushed through and avoided Persepolis unfortunately. we received a lot of hostility from the Iranians many of whom presumed we were Americans and or Brits. Everywhere was DEATH TO THE AMERICANS and Jihad symbolism. our coach was stoned a lot. it was a bit scary. but it was a war scenario.
Thanks for that amazing movie
Thank you for your kind comment. So glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for this video this is the exact year when I was born
A magical documentary. I went that way a bit later in 1979 with the Anglo-Australian Comfortable coach company. It is still the highlight of my life.
That beautiful Katmandu has now been turned into a dusty noisy and smelly concrete jungle. It is so sad that once the favorite destination of travellers is now am eyesore full of mosquito borne diseases like dengue.
Fantastic Movie💪🇧🇼 Okavango is Sensational. Brought back Such vivid memories. Thank You 🙏
And thank you for your kind comment! We love Botswana and its incredible people and so glad the film brought back vivid memories
Very nice video, so artistic done.. lake is super cool!😊
Thank you! So glad you liked our film : )
"Your channel is my happy place for virtual travel. Love the vibes and scenery! 🌄❤️"
So good 👍
Aldo Kane, the thinking man’s inspirational man crush 😂 really enjoyable watch
😂 so glad you enjoyed the film!
I want to see your picture when you are young. My son looks like you
🎉 surprise!
We joined the Bosnia and Beyond tour in Sep this year, and we were so blown away by the natural beauty of Bosnia that we are definitely going to go back for more of a hiking experience next time.
I drove an identical truck to the one in the video to Kathamdu in 1976 - Exodus Expeditions. Note to narrator. Istanbul is not the symbolic meeting place of Europe and Asia - It is the actual meeting place. At Kathmandu I did a mountain trek followed by a central and Southern India trip.
When you find something so beautiful and untouched in nature I don't know why I would ever want to spread the word and tell everyone about it seems like that would be the stupidest thing to do unless you want to make it suck
love Bosnia 🇧🇦 my favorite place to visit good people
My wife and I were part of the first Exodus hiking trip to Bosnia and had the privilege of being led by Samer climbing Maglic (and we swam in the Lake!) and visiting the monument amongst other places. We have returned several times and sponsor a youth worker in Capljina. Bosnia and Herzegovina is as fascinating and beautiful as the film shows. Do go! BEST WISHES TO SAMER.
Hi Robert, what a brilliant story! And how great you and your wife got to go on one of the first ever trips. Samer is just fantastic, and was justifiably voted leader of year a few years back out of all of our 800 global guides. We shall pass on your regards!
Hi Robert... Memories of that first-ever hike we did in 2006 are still fresh to me... It was the start of an amazing journey with Exodus which lasts almost 20 years now. Thank you for being a pioneer in those early days, when Bosnia was a relatively new destination on a world tourism map... Take care and all the best!
Looks stunning!
🙂
Welcome to Bosnia and Hercegovina Aldo.⛰️⛰️

i m from Kathmandu ,Nepal, I was born in 1972. so video became an intresting document to understand my Kathmandu ,my nepal. Thanks to all who completed that distance at that time,
Did this trip in 2022 as we came out of Covid lockdown. Great trekking holiday and the hotel staff are incredibly welcoming. Would definitely go there again, whether travelling independently or as a part of a holiday group.👍
they should travel to Latin America a real spiritual place with amazon and indians shamans not this nepal shithole !
Hey guys 👋
1977
Ah, the 1970s, a time of abundance, good-hearted people, and a kinder world. 🌟✌ Let's cherish those memories and strive to bring back the spirit of love and harmony to our modern lives. #ThrowbackToThe70s #GoodOldDays #LoveAndKindnessPrevail and those last ending Kathmandu Nepal was very nice clip love you all🥰😍🤩
I travelled through there by local buses in 62. Was fortunate to be there before the hippie invasion. Best memories ever. I reckon it could still be done pretty much the same these days. Don't necessarily believe all the news horror stories. Just head out and the information you need will increase as you get closer. My experience travelling there and much more in central Africa would indicate that, keep a low profile, look poor and tattered and humble will get you by in most situations. Smile a lot, look confused but friendly, asking for cooperation, and mostly you'll get it.
😎
I wonder how these costs translate to modern day costs?
